Have you ever had a hummingbird perch on your finger and feed from a bottle of nectar? We did!!!!! It was sooooo amazing. Their little tiny feet . . .!!!! Rocklands Bird santuary was started by a woman in the 50’s and now the man who worked for her, lives there and tends to the little birds. A must do if you are in Jamaica!

I will post some of … I will post some of my art…. but it will probably not happen today…. I have a very busy day scheduled. But I can probably get the vids made & post them tonight of tomorrow. I’ll try. Besides hummers, I use a lot of quetzels. They are so beautiful also!

That’s Jamaican’s … That’s Jamaican’s National Bird, Long stream-tail Hummingbird, aka Doctor Bird. you can quickly tell the difference between the male and female Hummingbird: Male has the 2 long stream tails and female don’t.

Big hug back! … Big hug back! This was amazing feeling it perch on my finger. It’s little feet were so delicate. It was incredible. When we were at my Mom’s, I wanted to try the same but we didn’t have time. However, these little birds are so hungry, one day, as I was returning the feeder, rather than hanging it right away, I just held it and they started feeding! And Sutra, thanks for subscribing!

Thank you for … Thank you for posting this. We are going to Jamaica in about 7 weeks and this is the first place we are going to visit. I’ve seen the still pictures, but this is the first video I’ve seen of the birds actually feeding. They are so beautiful! I can’t wait to do this myself!

This really is a … This really is a great place, the Doctor birds are awesome. On the down side it’s quite a difficult place to find and the guy there, although friendly does try to fleece you of some serious money. I have been there a few times and if you object to his demands you can normally thrash out a more reasonable price.
