A great small SUV for me…Excape, Compass, Liberty?
So I graduated from college about a year ago and am looking to upgrade from my Mustang. I want a small SUV – I’m tired of only being able to seat two people comfortably. I also need some Cargo space and I do a little traveling. If you’re going to write dont buy an SUV theyre bad for the environment – dont waste my time.
If you want to give my a good opinion – this is what I’m looking for. I want a small SUV. I’m considering Ford Escape and Jeep Compass, even though I’ve heard serious mixed reviews about the latter. I also enjoy my parent’s Liberty, but dont care for the new body style. I also love Wranglers, I think it would be a lot of fun, I just dont know if its practicle. I like Mercury’s Mariner, but may be a bit out of my price range. Not crazy about the CRV despite rave ratings. But I’m open to anyone’s opinion.
Try to comment from personal experience. I can get all crap Reviews I want on line, but I want honest opinions based on personal experience. Thanks!!
I sell them-the Jeeps are honestly junk and really don’t get very good gas mileage. My wife has the Ford Escape now for about 50K miles and 3 years. She has not had a single problem besides oil changes and tire rotations. She averages 30mpg with a 4cyl. The only problem is the Fords do not hold their resale value when it comes time to trade them in.

my best friend got a ford escape a little while ago and he loves it. it fits a good amount of people comfortably and has a good amount of cargo room. also if ur interested in protecting the environment ford makes a hybrid escape though it might b a little more expensive. if i were u id go 4 the escape

My mom enjoys her 07 rendezvous, drive nice in the winter, decent amount of room and there’s a good amount of space for luggage. I myself have a mazda 626, which isn’t an SUV, has space and has room. Grandma car to the max. XD
First photo is my car. P: Second is a stock photo of a rendezvous.

You can’t miss with a Subaru. We have a Forester and it has been great. Safe, handles well in all weather conditions and gets decent mileage. Jeeps are OK but have been noted to suffer problems and don’t keep much of a resale value.

Saturn Vue, yes. Ford Escape is good too. Compass I wouldn’t buy. Ford Edge is probably out of your price range, but it’s also good.
