All of those you mentioned are made by the same company MTD of Ohio.
Cub Cadet would be my first choice as it is MTD's Top of the line and easily serviced if required.
Craftsman would be second due to their serviceability issues you find with Sears labled products.
References :
I also live in upstate NY (Troy) and my driveway is almost the same size as yours.I bought my snowblower at walmart approx 5 yrs. ago for $700, its a MTD 8hp with a 28 in. cut and its more than I need.I can throw the snow in the neighbors yard if I want to. The only thing I can suggest to do, is take good care of it such as store it inside when not using and regular maintenance oil - plug and I empty the old gas out after each year. When doing so I add a treatment called stabil to the gas so I dont have any problems with the carb.Good Luck
References :
My driveway is a bit larger and I live in southern NH. I have a Toro Power Max 828 LXE, rated #1 by Consumer Reports, 8hp, 28" cut. I was worried that it wouldn't have the power of a 9-10 hp, but it had more than enough power for the three northeasters that I had to cut through. It has a Tecumseh engine with electric start, and a "Quick Stick" chute control, which operates like a joystick (very handy when the wind shifts quickly). It also has a light for nighttime use.
References :
http://www.toro.com/home/snowthrowers/gastwostage/series_compare.pdf

I had good luck with craftsman. The last one had the track instead of wheels.
Look for ease of operation and maintenance, and electric start.
References :
Look for a good warranty, and removable gas tank. Look closely for easy access to spark plugs, etc. -- You may need to replace them year after year and it is easy to do yourself.

Also, look at good quality non-metal parts -- you don't want rust, and you need to be able to move the blower easily to redirect the blowing snow when you turn.
