As someone that has … As someone that has read ALL the available Sherlock Holmes stories and has become a huge fan, I can highly recommend this movie. Even though I will offer that there are small points that the writers changed a bit, one being Holmes heroine addiction to keep his mind occupied while not on a case and the fact that Holmes is generally accepted as being much taller than RDJ has portrayed him, this movie captures the essence of Holmes and provides an amazing story to give the character exposure.

The movie, as … The movie, as enticing and exhilarating as it is, left out mention of Holmes’s cocaine habit (probably wise, given Downey’s past), which ultimately left me rather saddened, but the fact that they’ve made a franchise viewed as “old and boring” exciting and fresh is beyond grand.
